Dear guests,

Each one of us in our own unique way have been dealing with COVID-19 and luckily the worst is behind us and better times lay ahead. As promised in our previous post, we wanted to give you a brief update about the current situation here in Portugal :-).

For us and for your Into the Wild Algarve holiday, two main dates are of great importance; Monday May 18th and Saturday June 6th.

Monday May 18th:

  • Stores, restaurants, bars, cultural places, public transport for most part to reopen under extra safety conditions

Saturday June 6th:

  • Faro airport receiving flights, big stores, beaches, water parks for most part to reopen under extra safety conditions

We are assuming from July 1st many things will be back to 'normal' yet we will keep a close eye on the situation and inform you when more information is available.

Concluding on the Corana topic, we will be ready for you from June 6th and so is the most part of Portugal. Of coarse it will not be 100% back to normal and will we need to accept some extra safety measurements.

Although things coming back to normal, we advice everybody to check latest flight company COVID-19 schedules and flight details. Here are some useful airline companies information links:

Summer 2020 is going to be everything but boring as we are preparing activities to complete your ITWA experience.

We are delighted to focus on some positive news   Dear guests, The Portuguese government have reacted exceptionally fast to the COVID-19 outbreak and the results have been rewarding for us in Portugal. We had been on national lockdown since the 18th of March, but as of Sunday the 3rd of May the Portuguese ‘state of emergency’ came to an end. This means that some restaurants, beaches and stores are already carefully reopening for business, and even some limited flights are being scheduled (more info regarding flights are aspected on the 15th of May).

This is an indication that gradually things will go back to 'normal', of course we realise that this still will take some needed time, but we are hopeful to see Portugal back to its beautiful and vibrant self again soon. However, for now, these increased freedoms are good news not only for us as a family living and working in the Algarve, but also for our guests planning to visit us. Below we included some updated official graphics:

We have be very fortunate to not be affected by the outbreak in the South West Algarve, Vila do Bispo district, and we can only account for this being because we are surrounded by vast and open nature. This has also meant that our amazing volunteers have been able to continue over this time to safely help us with our many projects and to prepare ITWA to give you the best holiday ever this summer 2020.

In the meantime, we hope you stay safe, and the whole team looks forward to welcoming you soon at Into the Wild Algarve.    For now, Stay safe, Stay Happy.   Warm greetings ITWA team.
